Quick Guide to Using AI for UX Research

A few weeks ago, Jess Vice and I hosted a UX Research Rumble on using AI in UXR. We had a great discussion with 100 other UX Researchers about the pros and cons of using AI tools in the workplace.

Attendees expressed interest in learning more about using tools like ChatGPT for UX Research. Many researchers want to know what AI can and cannot do for them at work.

To encourage discussion around this topic, I’m sharing this document I created for my UX graduate students. Think of this as a cheat sheet to give you a sense of what ChatGPT can and cannot do effectively (as of January 2024) when it comes to UX Research.
